at Ilkley & District Good Neighbours Community Transport we
are members of MiDAS. This is the Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme.
The program is co-ordinated by the Community Transport Association.
It is a nationally recognised scheme aimed at achieving a common,
country-wide standard for minibus drivers.
Ilkley & District Good Neighbours
Community Transport has an approved driver assessor/trainer so
all training can be done locally.
What's Involved?
- A driving assessment on one of our minibuses
- A theory session covering:
- Driving technique
- Minibuses and the law
- Passenger care
- General good practice
- In addition to the basic theory and assessment
we can also offer further training for the use of ‘Fully
Accessible’ minibuses (those equipped to carry wheelchair
passengers and people requiring the passenger lift)
- We can also provide additional "on road"
training if required
- Training sessions can be arranged in or out
of normal working hours and during weekends
